Magical World Awaits EverQuest Players With an All New Playable Race, Graphically Enhanced Gameplay and Rideable Mounts
Dec 3, 2001
Sony Online Entertainment Inc., a worldwide leader in massively multiplayer online gaming, announced today that EverQuest®: The Shadows of Luclin™ will be available at retail stores tomorrow. The enchanting moonscape of Luclin will provide more than 400,000 current EverQuest players with over 27 new adventure zones, all-new items, creatures, spells, a new playable character race and rideable horses. Supported by a complete graphic overhaul, the enhanced gameplay featured in Luclin will allow EverQuest players to witness their world in unprecedented splendor.
"Luclin is the most ambitious addition yet to a collection of massively multiplayer experiences that combine to form one of the greatest online games of all time -- EverQuest," said Scott McDaniel, Vice President of Marketing, Sony Online Entertainment. "There is an astonishing amount of new content added in this expansion and we're confident gamers everywhere will find Luclin truly amazing."
EverQuest players will have the opportunity to experience the feline grace and fierce power of the Vah Shir, the all-new playable character race in Luclin. The Vah Shir are agile warriors and silent stalkers fighting for the honor of their king and kin. This new catlike race allows players to hunt the dark side of Luclin with their excellent night vision.
With the latest addition of rideable mounts in Norrath, EverQuest players will now be able to purchase a horse of their own in designated locations and summon their horse with the aid of a magical whistle. This will allow players to traverse greater distances in shorter periods of time and even battle from their mounts.
EverQuest: The Shadows of Luclin will launch with an additional CD-ROM featuring a complete upgrade to all textures throughout the original world of Norrath and all previous expansions. This texture upgrade will allow EverQuest players to view Norrath with unparalleled clarity and beauty, enriching the overall gameplay experience.
