Columbia Records -- John Ondrasik and his band, Five For Fighting, have been nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal category it was announced today by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, Inc.® The nomination is for Five For Fighting's hit recording "Superman (It's Not Easy)" and places the newly-emerging group in a category containing established acts such as *NSYNC and U2.

The dark horse Grammy nomination caps off a watershed year for Five For Fighting, who've been touring virtually non-stop since the release of America Town, the group's debut album. The Ondrasik-penned and sung "Superman (It's Not Easy)" and "Easy Tonight," the album's first single, proved to be breakthrough tracks for Five For Fighting, becoming hits on radio stations across-the-country. America Town was certified gold by the RIAA on November 1, 2001.
