Sony Pictures Entertainment Shatters All Time Box Office Record

With $2.75 billion in worldwide box office receipts, Sony Pictures Entertainment has broken the all-time industry box office record for worldwide ticket sales in a calendar year, it was announced today by John Calley, Chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment. This milestone surpasses the existing record of $2.68 billion set by 20th Century Fox in 1998, the year that studio distributed Titanic internationally.
"This is truly a memorable moment in Sony Pictures Entertainment's history," said Calley. "And it would not have been possible without the phenomenal efforts of our extremely talented filmmakers and the dedication of our production, marketing and distribution teams worldwide."

Jackson and Colin Farrell; Big Fish, starring Albert Finney and Ewan McGregor; an untitled film from director Nancy Meyers starring Jack Nicholson, Diane Keaton, and Keanu Reeves; National Security, starring Martin Lawrence; and Revolution Studios' Anger Management, starring Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler; Tears of the Sun, starring Bruce Willis; Hollywood Homicide, starring Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett; and Daddy Day Care, starring Eddie Murphy.
