Action-Packed Game Launch Event is Free and Open to the Public! Meet Brendan McNamara, Director of The Getaway, and be the First to Experience the Groundbreaking Gameplay of PlayStation® 2's Highly Anticipated New Title

WHAT: Prepare to pay a visit to London's underworld! Sony Computer
Entertainment America will launch The Getaway, only on
PlayStation 2, at Metreon -- A Sony Entertainment Center in
San Francisco on Friday, January 17 from 6 - 10pm.

One of the most ambitious projects in videogame history, The
Getaway blurs the line between cinema and games and delivers
a photo-realistic gameplay environment. Meet Brendan
McNamara, Director of The Getaway, as well as several key
actors from the game. They will all be available for
interviews, autographs and pictures from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
but the event will last until 10 p.m.

Due to the mature nature of The Getaway, an adult must
accompany gamers under the age of 17.

The Getaway is the story of two men from opposite sides of
the law. Mark Hammond, an ex-bank robber and gangster, is on
the run for the murder of his wife. Frank Carter, a
vigilante copper, was suspended from the Flying Squad. Both
men, manipulated by Charlie Jolson, a notorious crime boss
of London's East End, are desperate to clear their names.
