The Grammy-winning multi-platinum Aware/Columbia recording artist John Mayer will hit the road beginning July 2 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (see full itinerary following). John's very special guests on his North American tour will be Maroon 5 and DJ Logic.

With combined sales of 760,000 tickets, Mayer's 2003 summer (42 shows) and fall (22 shows) tours helped him to achieve the rank of #23 of the nation's top touring artists.

Since the release of his multi-platinum break-out album, Room For Squares, in 2001, John Mayer has developed a reputation as one of the nation's most formidable live performers, mixing superlative musicianship with set-list surprises, disarming improvisational between-songs patter, and the ability to make a direct connection with his audiences while exceeding their expectations.

Mayer's North American tour follows a series of select European dates (see itinerary following) with Sting -- whom Mayer recently called "the musical Jedi" in an interview for MTV.com. Mayer was among the list of artists -- which included Charles Aznavour, Mary J. Blige, Tony Bennett, Elton John, Elvis Costello, Dido, Diana Krall, Dave Matthews, Rufus Wainwright, and Wynonna --who performed at the MusiCares 2004 Person of the Year gala honoring Sting in Los Angeles on Friday, February 6.

John Mayer has been invited to join the all-star line-up of legendary guitarists participating in the Sunday Cotton Bowl concert portion (June 6) of "Eric Clapton Presents The Crossroads Guitar Festival" at Fair Park in Dallas. The three-day (June 4-6) Crossroads Guitar Festival -- which features Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Eric Johnson, B.B. King, Brian May, Pat Metheny, Otis Rush, Carlos Santana, James Taylor, Steve Vai, Jimmie Vaughan, Joe Walsh, ZZ Top and others -- will raise money for Crossroads Centre Antiqua, the treatment and education center founded in 1997 by Eric Clapton.

Following a pair of December dates at New York's Irving Plaza with Buddy Guy, John Mayer has teamed up with the blues legend for a scorching remix of Sly & the Family Stone's "You Can Make It If You Try," slated to appear on an upcoming album of new mixes of classic Sly tracks. "Lord, this kid's another B.B. King!," Buddy Guy told Guitar One magazine (April 2004). "You just never get tired of hearing John play."

Mayer's most recent album, Heavier Things, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 best-selling albums chart the week of its release in September 2003. The album is rapidly approaching the RIAA double platinum mark. John's groundbreaking watershed debut album, Room For Squares, is closing in on the RIAA quadruple platinum mark.

John Mayer received a Grammy award in 2003 in the Best Male Pop Vocal Performance category for his smash hit, "Your Body Is A Wonderland."
