The P234 features a 1920 x 1200 high resolution screen that delivers vivid images and clear text. The widescreen display has ample space for multi-page layouts and graphics design, while simultaneously allowing for multiple toolbars on the screen. Including both digital and analog connections, users can easily connect to different computers and workstations, taking up less desktop space.

"The P234 meets a growing demand for widescreen displays that increase productivity at work and enhance entertainment at home," said Jim Neal, group general manager for Sony's IT display products.

With a superior brightness panel and a 500:1 contrast ratio, the P234 also comes with Sony's ErgoBrightâ„¢ technology, a one-touch luminance control system, so screen brightness can be easily adjusted with practically no loss of contrast or color fidelity. Additionally an ambient light sensor can be activated to automatically adjust display luminance based on changing room lighting conditions. This is especially important for color critical applications, such as those required by architects, designers and engineers.

Delivering an enhanced response time, games and movies are optimized when viewed on the P234. The new design features an illuminated Sony logo and one-touch control panel, both of which can be switched off to provide a solid black frame for entertainment. The display can also be arm or wall mounted.

Available this month, the P234 display will be priced at about $2600.
