Armed with a horse, players journey across picturesque landscapes to unearth and destroy 16 gigantic mythical Colossi. The grueling task of defeating a Colossus pits intelligent puzzle solving and action oriented gameplay against the mighty power and force of mountain- sized beasts. While traveling on horseback exploring miles of beautifully rendered ancient lands, players are tasked with a variety of difficult terrain challenges while tracking down Colossi.

"We have created the ultimate third-person action-adventure game, stripping down the genre to its bare essentials, while beefing up important gameplay features PlayStation 2 fans have been clamoring for," said Susan Nourai, director, online and product marketing, Sony Computer Entertainment America. "A gripping and immersive storyline coupled with unique cinematic environments, an enchanting score and compelling action, present Shadow of the Colossus as a one-of-a-kind experience for PlayStation 2."

Storyline/Gameplay Description For Shadow of the Colossus

Shadow of the Colossus is an emotional story of determination, resilience and ultimately triumph told through the direction of a unique visual style. Players take on the role of a young man mourning his lost loved one. In an undisturbed land, protected by a bridge of unimaginable design and a temple of untold fear, a powerful unknown voice offers an answer to the question of how to bring back a spirit lost from a cursed fate. The land is home to mountain- sized creatures that each possess the key to the power of revival.

Armed with strong wits, a supernatural sword and a sturdy bow, players must explore majestic lands, locating and fighting each of the 16 Colossi on foot or horseback, while using great skill and resourcefulness. Players must climb treacherous mountains, swim above and below wild rivers, ride and run across impossibly large landscapes to battle against with these extraordinary beasts. In addition, players use intelligence and strategy to topple each giant as they search for the answer of revival.
