Rising Star Lil Mama Sets to Release Debut Album 'Voice Of The Young People' on April 29th

Jive recording artist Lil Mama is set to release her eagerly-awaited debut album Voice Of The Young People. Her current hit single, "Shawty Get Loose" with Chris Brown and T-Pain, is #25 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart and #17 on both the Digital Tracks and Digital Singles Charts.

This week, Lil Mama holds the #25 spot on the Hot 100 Singles chart, selling nearly 100k digital singles of "Shawty Get Loose." The smash hit single is from her upcoming debut album Voice Of The Young People. Her first effort features an array of heavy weight producers including Scott Storch, Cool & Dre, T-Pain and James Groove among others.

Lil Mama grew up in NY, between Harlem and Brooklyn's East New York as one of eight brothers and sisters. She began writing poetry as a little kid and she started rapping at a very young age. In 2007, the young Brooklyn resident caught everyone by surprise when she came to the scene with "Lipgloss." This past fall, Lil Mama joined Chris Brown on the national "Up Close and Personal Tour," and enjoyed the opportunity of performing in front of thousands of people.

Lil Mama has graced the pages of many national publications including Allure, Elle, Teen Vogue, Seventeen, Blender, Entertainment Weekly, Vibe as well as the New York Times, The NY Daily News, USA Today and The NY Post. She has performed on MTV's TRL, BET's 106 & Park, the Tyra Banks Show and during the Arthur Ash Kid's Day at last year's US Open. Lil Mama is scheduled to perform on Regis & Kelly on April 29th, the Jimmy Kimmel Show on May 8th and will appear on the Today Show April 30th. Recently Lil Mama performed on the Kids Choice Awards pre-show on Nickelodeon.
