Michael Madsen, George Hamilton and Paul Ben-Victor will star in COMA, an original web series set to premiere on Crackle.com on August 20. Produced by Drew Fitzgerald & Stefan Haller from WIMO, Miguel Melendez at Overbrook Entertainment and Anonymous Content, the seven-episode series is set in a contemporary noir metropolis and follows Mayor Hannon (Hamilton) and crime syndicate leader Lennox (Madsen) as they work together to take down the city's crime boss. Directed by P.R. Brown and shot in a style reminiscent of Sin City and 300, COMA also features special guest appearances by Tony Todd (Candyman), Lou Casal ("NYPD Blue"), and April Scott (The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning.)

The series is being sponsored by Sony Electronics and its new line of VAIO PCs. It will be supported by Microsoft Vista Ultimate and distributed online via Crackle.com, the Sony Pictures Entertainment online video network, as well as YouTube, Hulu, AOL, Adobe, and on mobile at AT&T and Verizon Wireless' V CAST Video service. In addition, an exclusive Director's Cut Blu-ray Disc™ featuring all COMA episodes will be distributed in magazine inserts this October. The limited edition disc will also include music and movie content from Sony BMG and Sony Pictures.

The unique web series was shot with Sony professional high-definition cameras. COMA was developed to be experienced in a mobile environment. On the heels of the Sony VAIO FW notebook release, the webisodes are ideal for this new multi-media PC with its Blu-ray Disc high-definition playback capabilities.

"The future of our industry is rooted within innovative distribution," said Miguel Melendez, President/ Overbrook Entertainment-Management Division and executive producer of COMA. "Our partnership with WIMO is a creative one where we get to explore how extraordinary content meets groundbreaking technology."

"With the growing success of video on the internet, iPods and cell phones, we felt the global market was ready for high-end content produced exclusively for these devices," said Stefan Haller, a partner in WIMO. Added Drew Fitzgerald, also a partner in WIMO, "We spent a great deal of time experimenting with different formats, and COMA was the result of our extensive research and development in this area."

"COMA will look amazing on the Sony VAIO FW," said Stuart Redsun, senior vice president of corporate marketing at Sony Electronics. "With cutting-edge technology and the webisode's rich content, the new VAIO FW offers the ultimate mobile high-definition experience."

"By merging our technology, media and entertainment assets, we are able to deliver original content that offers an immersive Sony experience," said Lynn Lewis, EVP Global Managing Partner at Universal McCann, Sony's media agency of record.

COMA was written by WIMO partners Drew Fitzgerald and Stefan Haller.
Creative Artists Agency orchestrated the deal on behalf of WIMO.
