Oct 30, 2014
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Last Internationale will perform a very special "Call For Action" show regarding Prop 47 at the South Los Angeles Community Coalition Center today.
California Proposition 47 regards "Reduced Penalties for Drug Related Crimes," and the group is raising awareness amongst voters prior to Election Day next Tuesday, November 4 with this free show. The Los Angeles three-piece—Delila Paz, Edgey Pires, and Brad Wilk [Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave]—is set to play for the community inside the parking lot of the Community Coalition Center. The performance will begin at 3pm PST. If you're in Los Angeles, don't miss this opportunity to see one of rock 'n' roll's most powerful voices.
Delila Paz comments, "This act is a huge step in changing the system in which we live to one that rehabilitates rather than punishes, builds up rather than destroys, and puts importance on the community and education of its youth rather than the systematic imprisonment of its people."
Edgey Pires adds, "Vote for Proposition 47 and let's finally get rid of these idiotic and draconian laws that destroy lives and divide families over minor offenses like drug possession or shoplifting. By simply voting YES, you'll automatically be putting $150 million to $250 million per year into education and creating safe neighborhoods. The choice is obvious- VOTE YES ON 47!"
The Last Internationale first emerged in 2013 with their independent EP, New York, 'I Do Mind Dying. Legendary Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello made an introduction between Delila Paz and Edgy Pires and his longtime bandmate Brad Wilk. The drummer ended up joining the group, and they unleashed We Will Reign this past summer. They've performed on The Late Show with David Letterman and recently supported Robert Plant on tour.
