Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. announced today the in-game soundtrack for the North American release of Gran Turismo™ 3 A-spec, exclusively for the PlayStation® 2 computer entertainment system. Available at retailers now, Gran Turismo 3 A-spec hits videogamers' ears full throttle with music from such popular artists as Lenny Kravitz, Raekwon, Snoop Dogg, Papa Roach, Powerman 5000 and many more.

Fans of the first two Gran Turismo titles will recall the blistering soundtracks that kept pace with the racing action in the game. The third title in the successful Gran Turismo racing game franchise, Gran Turismo 3 A-spec offers an even more realistic driving experience, backed by the throbbing beats of some of the top modern rock bands. Combining rock hits from the '80s and '90s with hits from today, Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec offers music for all audiences, including original songs from Lenny Kravitz, Raekwon and Snoop Dog.

Along with an exhilarating soundtrack, Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec is enhanced by authentic sound effects that add to the overall realism of the game, further immersing gamers in a true-to-life racing experience. To capture the authentic sounds of motorsport racing, encompassing engine, muffler and tire sounds, Polyphony Digital Inc., the developers of Gran Turismo 3 A-spec, spent more than six months traveling to race tracks around the world, including the Laguna Seca Raceway in California, Motegi in Japan, Monte Carlo in Monaco and Darlington Raceway in England, to record the true sounds of the cars.
Gran Turismo 3 A-spec offers gamers a selection of more than 150 authentic vehicles, including a variety of models from Japanese, European and American car manufacturers. Among the choice of vehicles, there will be 30 new car models. All vehicles feature individually customized performance, handling, drive train, and throttle response to mirror true car physics, and real recorded engine sounds for each car.
Fueled by unparalleled 3D graphics, Gran Turismo 3 A-spec delivers speed that players can actually feel. The game takes full advantage of the DUALSHOCK™ 2 analog controller, so the harder the driver pushes on the touch-sensitive controller, the faster the car will go, simulating the gas pedal of a real car. Drivers can "feel" the speed as they maneuver through curves and shoot down straight-aways, passing by competitors.
