The Streamium MC-i 200 is the world's first micro hi-fi system able to access multiple online music services via a broadband Internet connection. The system will be available globally in mid-2002.

"Philips is a true leader in consumer electronics, and is helping to drive the convergence of home audio and Internet technology," said David Hyman, CEO of Gracenote. "We are very excited to bring our functionality to Philips' customers."

"Gracenote's audio recognition technology plays an important role in our Streamium MC-i 200 Internet audio system by bringing a newly found ease-of-use when listening to CD music," said Jean-Marc Matteini, General Manager, Philips Internet Audio. "The industry standard CDDB service is a natural addition to our system, and provides a key element in our drive to offer fully featured Internet-enabled home audio devices."
