Columbia Records artist Pete Yorn is going back on the road with a series of headline shows and festival performances beginning April 4 in San Diego (see itinerary following). In addition, Pete will perform at select venues with the rock band Weezer (Weezer dates subject to change). Pete Yorn headlined the first MTV2 Handpicked Tour in summer 2001. The spring tour is Yorn's first since the artist shared bills with Remy Zero in November-December 2001. Pete latest single, "Strange Condition" (from his critically-acclaimed debut album musicforthemorningafter), is currently the #1 record on the Triple A Monitor Chart.

Coinciding with Pete's latest set of live dates, Columbia Records will is releasing a special limited edition of musicforthemorningafter with a value-added bonus disk featuring Yorn's interpretations of songs by Bruce Springsteen ("New York Serenade," "Dancing In The Dark"), the Smiths ("Panic"), Iggy Pop & David Bowie ("China Girl") as well as the newly recorded rock version, featuring R.E.M.'s Peter Buck on guitar, of Pete's latest hit "Strange Condition." In addition, the album re-release features CD Extra bonus videos for "Strange Condition," "For Nancy ('Cos It Already Is"), "Life On A Chain," and "June." This collector's limited edition of musicforthemorningafter will be in stores on April 23.

Pete has been actively touring in support of his critically acclaimed debut album, musicforthemorningafter, since its original release on March 27, 2001 and has shared bills with Semisonic and Coldplay. On July 4, four days before the launch of the MTV2 Handpicked Tour, Pete performed at the fabled Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado, opening for Blues Traveler.

Pete and musicforthemorningafter have been the subject of numerous critical accolades. Rolling Stone, who picked Pete as one of the magazine's "Ten To Watch In 2001," gave musicforthemorningafter a four-star (****) rating calling the album " ... atmospheric, gently lit by sunlight and regret."

USA Today observed "The latest last great hope for the ailing singer/songwriter genre may vaguely resemble a young Springsteen ... .His insinuating melodies and lean ... driving graceful arrangements evoke R.E.M.'s early work. It's impossible to pigeonhole Yorn's music ... inspired quirkiness makes him, if not the future of rock 'n' roll, at least a promising new disciple."
