Columbia Records -- Incredible, the eagerly-awaited sophomore album from the gospel pop duo Mary Mary, has debuted at #20 on the Billboard Top 200 best-selling album chart. With first week's sales topping out at more than 42 thousand copies (according to SoundScan), Incredible has more than doubled the first week's sales of Thankful, Mary Mary's RIAA platinum-certified debut album.
Incredible is the #1 album on the Top Christian Album chart, #1 on the Top Gospel Album chart, #1 Overall Combined Mainstream/Christian chart, and #2 on the Mainstream Christian chart.
Fans of Mary Mary can hear the duo performing the songs of Incredible and Thankful at the group's live appearances this summer (see itinerary following).
Mary Mary is comprised of the singer-songwriter team of Erica and Tina Campbell, two real life sisters who have brought revolutionary R&B, urban and hip-hop elements to the world of contemporary gospel music. The pair grew up in a family steeped in gospel music and began singing publicly in their local church choir in Inglewood, California.
As Mary Mary, the sisters broke through when their self-penned recording of "Let Go, Let God" found its way onto the "Prince of Egypt" soundtrack. The duo's platinum debut album, Thankful, released in April 2000, earned Mary Mary a slew of accolades including a Grammy for Best Contemporary Gospel Album, three Dove Awards, six Stellar Awards, a Lady of Soul Award, and a Soul Train Award.
