Bud Howey Named Senior Vice President, Information Technology, for Sony Corporation of America

Bud Howey has been named Senior Vice President, Information Technology, Sony Corporation of America (SCA), it was announced today by Rob Wiesenthal, Executive Vice President and CFO, SCA.
In his new role, Mr. Howey will be responsible for all SCA-wide IT infrastructures and shared services and will report to Mr. Wiesenthal. He will manage the operation of all SCA data centers, lead a coordinated IT strategic sourcing and vendor management program, and develop a network master plan including engineering and operations. He will continue to assist with all elements of the Project USA restructuring, working closely with all of Sony's U.S. business units.
"Bud's IT and business expertise will become increasingly important as Sony moves forward with its future business strategies and Project USA efforts," said Howard Stringer, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, SCA.

Mr. Howey will manage a team of strategic sourcing, network strategy and operations professionals, including Steve Charatz, Vice President of the Briarcliff Shared Service for SCA.
From 1992 until 2002, Bud served as Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer for Sony Music Entertainment Inc. Prior to joining Sony Music, Bud was a consulting partner with Price Waterhouse. He received his BS from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, and his MBA from Vanderbilt University.
