"We are thrilled to see the Wild Arms franchise expand onto PlayStation 2," said Ami Blaire, director, product marketing, Sony Computer Entertainment America "With the franchise popularity of the first two games on PlayStation, and the advanced technical capabilities made possible with PlayStation 2, fans of the role-playing category are sure to embrace the evolution of Wild Arms 3."
In Wild Arms 3, players will assume the roles of drifters traveling through Filgaia -- an interactive barren wasteland to solve complex puzzles utilizing the special abilities of the game's characters to unearth hidden treasures. Innovative stroke-shading technology brings to life the vibrant and energetic visuals in a western setting, filled with murky dungeons, mystic creations, monster-plagued frontiers and cities erected from eroded rock and scavenged wood.
Wild Arms 3 is an enchanting adventure that ties together the tales of four drifters -- Virginia, Gallows, Jet and Clive -- who are searching to understand why the land of Filgaia changed from a flourishing area to a barren wasteland. Setting aside their differences, they must roam the lands and unlock the knowledge of historical mystical forces, making their adventure their collective destiny. Each character possesses unique individual attributes, including their favorite weapons and destructive combat skills that aid in the journey. Players have the ability to read their character's moods and emotions through a technique called "expressive-communication" utilizing font and imagery variations. The enhanced battle system delivers a cinematic experience with improved features, including weapons varying in strength, speed, range, and a turn-based encounter battle system, providing for extremely intricate and challenging gameplay.
The independent Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has rated Wild Arms 3 "E" for Everyone. For more information about the ESRB visit www.esrb.org.
