Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. announced today the release of Jet X2O™ available exclusively for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system. Developed by Killer Game and produced by Sony Computer Entertainment America's San Diego development studio, Jet X2O puts the player in the driver seat of a fast, sleek concept watercraft to race and perform tricks through intense point-to-point courses in eight large exotic environments.

Jet X2O extends the watercraft racing experience beyond typical lap racing, delivering intriguing race environments inspired by a broad range of locations, such as the Arctic, a canyon, a Pacific island and the legendary city of Atlantis. Each course contains multiple routes to reach the finish line for increased strategy and replay variety. In these massive environments, players are challenged to perform more than 30 intense motocross-inspired tricks as well as character-specific tricks in various race modes. With ten highly stylized watercrafts to choose from, players can race through water and terrain of all sorts -- where one will not only have to worry about their own watercraft stability but also beware of competitors' aggressive racing and the effect of the watercraft waves around them. In addition, players can select characters from eight different countries with unique personalities that carry over in to their race etiquette on the course.
"Racing on watercrafts through graphically impressive exotic locales while performing mind-blowing tricks in Jet X2O provides racing fans with a unique forum to live-out their watersport fantasies," said Ami Blaire, director, product marketing, Sony Computer Entertainment America. "We are thrilled to bring Jet X20 to gaming fans this fall as it takes the watersport racing category to new dimensions on PlayStation 2."
Jet X2O offers single- and multi-player gameplay in which racing fans and watercraft lovers alike can enjoy four gameplay modes, including Trick Race, which ranks players by racing ability and trick points; Season Mode, which encompasses All Trick Races; Big Wave Mode, a practice area for players to refine their turning, sub-diving and tricking skills; and Trick Mode, in which players must accumulate trick points within a limited timeframe.
The independent Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has rated Jet X2O "E" for Everyone. For more information about the ESRB visit www.esrb.org.
