Lostprophets, the groundbreaking band from Wales, will return to the States in July for a series of North American concert dates with the group's Columbia Records labelmates, Midtown, and Eighteen Visions. The Lostprophets' stateside summer tour kicks off July 15 at the fabled 9:30 Club in Washington, DC (see full itinerary following).
News of the Lostprophets summer tour comes on the heels of the RIAA gold certification of Start Something, the Lostprophets' critically-acclaimed sophomore album. Released in the U.S. in February 2004, Start Something debuted at #33 on the Billboard 200 bestselling albums chart and remains in the top half of that chart.
"Last Train Home," the first single from Start Something, hit the #1 slot on the Modern Rock Tracks chart while "Wake Up (Make A Move)," the latest single from Start Something, has been the Most Added track at both Modern and Active Rock radio.
The Lostprophets' "Lucky You," formerly available only as a rare UK b-side, can be heard on Spider-Man 2 - Music From and Inspired By.
Midtown, who will be providing musical support on Lostprophets tour, also have a track, "Give It Up," on Spider-Man 2 - Music From and Inspired By. A ferociously tuneful post-punk rock ensemble, Midtown reached #90 on the Billboard 200 with the group's DIY album, Living Well Is The Best Revenge, in 2002. Forget What You Know, the eagerly-awaited Midtown major label debut, will be in stores on Tuesday, June 29.
