Sony Computer Entertainment America Hosts SOCOM II: U.S. Navy SEALs World Championships at the Metreon

 Top Players in North America and Korea Face Off Online With New SOCOM II
                                  Levels

  WHAT:      SOCOM II World Championships will be held at the PlayStation®
             store at the Metreon in San Francisco on Saturday,
             October 30th, 2004 at 1 p.m.  The tournament is the culmination
             of more than three months of intense team-based clan
             competition, which brings together 16 players from North
             America and Korea to play new and classic SOCOM II levels
             online.  The eight players who make up the top clan, either
             from North America or Korea, will be heralded as the "SOCOM II
             World Champions."

             The "Old School" Clan of North America is made up of eight
             players from all over the country, from North Carolina and
             Florida to Pennsylvania and California.  They range in age from
             17 to 26-years-old and their occupations vary from students to
             programmers and engineers.  They met playing SOCOM II online,
             formed a clan, and subsequently won a trip to San Francisco to
             face off against the best clan from Korea in a best of three
             maps, at five rounds per map.  Two of the three maps will be
             the new SOCOM II downloadable maps for the Internal Hard Disk
             Drive (40GB) (for PlayStation®2).  It will be the public
             debut viewing for both of these new maps designed to take
             advantage of the HDD.

  WHEN:      Saturday, October 30, 2004 at 1 p.m.

  WHERE:     The PlayStation Store at the Metreon, located at the corner of
             Fourth and Mission streets (101 Fourth Street) in downtown
             San Francisco.  The PlayStation Store is on the ground floor.
