Trey Anastasio will hit the road in support of Shine, his eagerly-awaited Columbia Records debut album, with a fall tour beginning November 2 at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis, Minnesota (full itinerary follows). Trey's fall tour follows a short series of select concerts in October -- including two dates opening for the Rolling Stones (October 6, Charlottesville, VA, Scott Stadium; October 8, Durham, NC, Wallace Wade) and two nights in Las Vegas at the Vegoose Music Festival (10/28, Aladdin Theatre; 10/30, Sam Boyd Stadium).

Trey's new album, Shine, will be available as either a traditional CD or a DualDisc on Tuesday, November 1.

Fans pre-ordering Shine online will receive a bonus EP, "Live from Chicago," featuring six unreleased performances recorded live at Chicago's Charter One Pavilion on August 10, 2005. Tracks include newly recorded versions of Trey classics -- "Drifting," "Burlap Sack and Pumps," "Mr. Completely," and "First Tube" (a Trey original which became a latter-day Phish concert staple, the studio version of the song was nominated for a Best Rock Instrumental Grammy) -- as well as a concert version of "Spin" (from Shine) and the never-released-in-any-form musical suite "Goodbye Head," a composition co-written by Trey and his daughter.

Every fan pre-ordering Shine will be automatically entered to win a framed and autographed copy of the lyrics to the song "Shine," handwritten by Trey. One (1) second prize winner will receive a pair of tickets to any Trey Anastasio show within the next year and an autographed copy of Shine. Ten (10) third prize winners will receive autographed copies of the album.

Fans may pre-order either the CD or DualDisc edition of Shine, with the "Live from Chicago" bonus EP, online at http://www.trey.com/.

Shine is Anastasio's first collection of new songs since the dissolution of the artist's seminal rock band, Phish, in 2004 and is his first album for Columbia Records.

Produced and mixed by Brendan O'Brien (whose extensive resume ranges from Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Paul Westerberg to Pearl Jam and Rage Against The Machine), Shine premieres 12 new studio recordings by Trey Anastasio (many of them road-tested in the past year by Trey's touring ensemble, 70 Volt Parade). O'Brien plays bass, keyboards and contributes background vocals to the album and is joined on several tracks by legendary drummer Kenny Aronoff (John Mellencamp, Bob Dylan, Iggy Pop)

All guitar parts and lead vocals on Shine are by Trey Anastasio, who, for the first time on any of his albums (with the exception of the primarily instrumental One Man's Trash but including the Phish catalog) is the record's sole lyricist.

Tracks on Shine include: "Shine," "Tuesday," "Invisible," "Come As Melody," "Air Said To Me," "Wherever You Find It," "Sweet Dreams Melinda" (an older song, cowritten with Russ Lawton and Tony Markellis, heard here with new

lyrics and a fresh arrangement), "Love Is Freedom," "Sleep Again," "Spin," "Black," and "Love That Breaks All Lines."

The DualDisc edition of Shine will feature the album, in its entirety, on the audio side. The DVD component will include the full album in PCM Stereo as well as "Live At Red Rocks," featuring four songs--"Air Said To Me," "Dark and Down," "Shine," and "Come As Melody"--from Trey's most recent concert (August 13, 2005) at Colorado's fabled Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The Shine DualDisc also includes behind-the-scenes rehearsals at Red Rocks and an exclusive interview with Trey.

"I'm really excited to get back on the road and start playing the new songs live," said Trey Anastasio. "The road is where the songs grow legs and begin evolving on their own in new and interesting ways. Shine is opening a new door for my music and I can't wait to find out what's on the other side."
