Larger Than Life, Shadow of the Colossus Provides an Emotional Artistic Adventure Available Exclusively for PlayStation®2
Shadow of the Colossus Takes Gamers on the Journey of a Lifetime to Battle Beasts the Likes of Which Have Never Been Seen Before
FOSTER CITY, Calif.
Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. announced today the release of Shadow of the Colossus, exclusively for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system. Created by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan, developers of the critically-acclaimed ICO™ game released in 2001 for the PlayStation 2 system, Shadow of the Colossus is a single-player, third-person action-adventure game. In Shadow of the Colossus, players embark on a majestic journey in a mystical land to defeat extremely large colossal beasts in order to seek the truth behind an ancient tale of hidden power that brings a lost soul back to life.
Armed with a horse, players journey across picturesque landscapes to unearth and destroy 16 gigantic mythical Colossi. The grueling task of defeating a Colossus pits intelligent puzzle solving and action oriented gameplay against the mighty power and force of mountain- sized beasts. While traveling on horseback exploring miles of beautifully rendered ancient lands, players are tasked with a variety of difficult terrain challenges while tracking down Colossi.
"We have created the ultimate third-person action-adventure game, stripping down the genre to its bare essentials, while beefing up important gameplay features PlayStation 2 fans have been clamoring for," said Susan Nourai, director, online and product marketing, Sony Computer Entertainment America. "A gripping and immersive storyline coupled with unique cinematic environments, an enchanting score and compelling action, present Shadow of the Colossus as a one-of-a-kind experience for PlayStation 2."

In addition, players use intelligence and strategy to topple each giant as they search for the answer of revival.
