Carly's recent Grammy nomination comes at the end of a banner year for the artist. Released in July 2005, her Columbia Records debut album, Moonlight Serenade -- which reunited her with longtime musical collaborator/producer Richard Perry -- entered the Billboard Top 200 at #7, becoming her highest- charting debut in the SoundScan era and the fifth Top 10 album of her career.

In September 2005, she performed two historic concerts on-board the fabled ocean liner, the Queen Mary 2. The first television special to be taped during a transatlantic crossing, Carly Simon's QM2 performances may be seen as part of PBS pledge week. Carly's full concert DVD of the experience, "A Moonlight Serenade On The Queen Mary 2," is in stores now and features a music video of Carly's current holiday hit, "Let It Snow," which has just bulleted up to #12 on Billboard's Adult Airplay chart.

In late November-early December 2005, Carly broke her long hiatus from touring to perform songs from her indelible catalog and selections from Moonlight Serenade in a series of shows in intimate theater venues in select American cities -- including Boston, New York, Washington DC, Ann Arbor, and Chicago.

Rave reviews of Carly's latest concerts praised the iconic performer's long-awaited return to the stage as an evening full of warm musical moments and wonders:

"Simon's enthusiasm never failed, and the evening was a success thanks to the singer's warm ways, the evergreen appeal of a family affair, and the incalculable force of memory."

-- Joan Anderman, Boston Globe, November 21, 2005

"Carly Simon earned every hoot, holler, whistle and lick of applause for the first show of her first proper tour in a decade ... "

-- Sarah Rodman, Boston Herald, November 21, 2005

"The handful of jazzy classics the leggy, 60-year-old pop star culled from that album for a Jazz at Lincoln Center show earlier this week worked with her warm, vulnerable alto as well as her confessional songs from the '70s did."

-- Dan Aquilante, New York Post, November 25, 2005

"Once she moved inside the rhythm, she was thoroughly unself-conscious and had nothing to be afraid of."

-- Laura Sinagra, New York Times, November 24, 2005

"Backed by an 11-piece band, Simon strolled through the classic American songbook on the blissful 'The More I See You' and 'I Only Have Eyes For You,' bringing an elegantly respectful albeit distinctive sensuality to the popular standards."

-- Bob Gendron, Chicago Tribune, December 8, 2005

"'Anticipation' provided the night's feel-good and melodic high points. The energy level soared during 'Mockingbird' ... "

-- Dave McKenna, Washington Post, December 1, 2005

"[Simon] ruled the stage -- blazing through her long string of best- sellers with the energy and zest of rock stars half her age."

-- Robyn-Denise Yourse, Washington Times, December 1, 2005

"Let it be said that Simon sounded just as sweet as ever and looked positively radiant."

-- Roger LeLievre, Ann Arbor News, December 5, 2005

" ... last night's final show at the Chicago Theatre proved the singer was a veteran of the road."

-- Andy Argyrakis, Daily Journal (Kankakee, IL), December 7, 2005
