Columbia Pictures will launch the first full-length trailer of its highly anticipated May 19, 2006 release The Da Vinci Code worldwide in theaters and on the internet on December 14 targeting Peter Jackson's epic King Kong with an exclusive four-hour window on the Apple.com movie trailer site starting midnight Tuesday, December 13, Pacific Standard Time. The potential reach is 110 million people worldwide just on the Internet with the trailer expected to be translated into 20 different languages.
Following the exclusive Apple break, at 4 a.m. on December 14, the trailer will be sent via satellite around the world to Sony's global on-line partners. The trailer will launch in the Quicktime player formats: Small, Medium, Large, High Definition, iPod Video and also be available as a download for the PSP.
In theaters, The Da Vinci Code trailer will be targeting the expected blockbuster King Kong, which debuts globally on December 14 and will be seen in a dubbed version in France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Hungary, Japan and Russia.
From director Ron Howard, producer Brian Grazer and screenwriter Akiva Goldsman, the Oscar®-winning team of A Beautiful Mind, and producer John Calley (the Oscar®-nominated The Remains of the Day), comes the film version of Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code, one of the most popular and talked about novels of our time, with a cast headed by two-time Academy Award® winner Tom Hanks, Audrey Tautou, Sir Ian McKellen, Alfred Molina, Paul Bettany and Jean Reno.
