Inspired by music and dedicated to supporting "gadgets for girls," Luella Bartley joined forces on Sunday with Sony Electronics and Sony Ericsson to highlight the equally inspiring Walkman® brand during her Fall runway show.
To accessorize her collection, Luella customized Walkman wireless phones and Walkman Bean™ MP3 players with graffiti designs that coordinated with her new line. The uber-chic phones and music players adorned models as they strutted the catwalk.
Fall/Winter 2006 is very sexy for the Luella girl; she has a strong air of confidence and is playing with the themes of 1940's tailoring and the Luella take on menswear.
Call it Betty Page naughtiness with a London edge and a hint of rockabilly. The Walkman devices perfectly complement the vibe.
"I'm motivated by a new sense of dressing up in London with clubs full of beautiful girls in forties-inspired outfits," Bartley said. "The new, modern form of burlesque, the tattooed women of the forties and of course slow, feminine, sexy, music perfect to listen to on a Walkman device."
Walkman Bean MP3 Player
Bright and colorful, the compact Walkman Bean MP3 players sport a sassy shape and come in such tasty colors as coconut white, tropical ice blue, cotton candy pink and licorice black. They store hundreds of songs, include a built-in FM tuner and a brilliant display.
For added convenience, the players have a pop-up USB jack that connects directly to a PC for charging and transferring music. They provide up to 50 hours of continuous playback on a rechargeable battery and feature a quick-charge function that enables about three hours of playback on as little as a three-minute charge.
Sony Ericsson Walkman Phones
Sony Ericsson's new line of Walkman phones elevates mobile music to a whole new level. Great phones first, the Walkman series includes fashionably cool, all-in-one devices that let you take your favorite tunes with you wherever you go. Each phone ships with a high quality stereo headset that has a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, so you can use other headphones if that's your style.
High-quality digital cameras and video capabilities round out these rockin' devices. And, with the Walkman phones' elegant and stylish design, they're perfect for a design diva or phone fashionista.
Also at the show, the Luella for Walkman "Gadgets for Girls" Lounge offered guests the opportunity to get a close up of the specially designed phones and music players.
"My life has a soundtrack," Bartley noted. "And it's usually playing back on a Walkman."
