PMA 2006, Booth #4150 -- Sony Electronics today is launching its latest digital dye sublimation 8 x 10-inch digital photo printer, the UP-D75 model, which is designed to provide the necessary high image quality for the professional photography market. The new model succeeds the UP-D70A printer, which won a Digital Imaging Marketing Association (DIMA) award here at the Photo Marketing Association conference last year, taking top honors for image quality in the 8 x 10-inch and larger dye sublimation printer category.

"The UP-D75 printer integrates the most sought-after features used by portrait professionals," said Jennifer Hornidge, Sony Electronics' marketing manager for digital photofinishing. "This new model offers a professional matte finish, resulting in photographic-quality images that portrait photographers depend on."

Unlike other digital photo printers, the UP-D75 model uses a unique lamination process to create the Sony Pro Matteā„¢ finish for professional, portrait-photo applications, using the same media print pack as its predecessor model for glossy and textured finishes.

The printer's refined printing sequence and longer life print head, as compared to its predecessor, allows 8 x 10-inch, 300 dpi photos to print in 80 seconds.

In addition, Sony's fingerprint and smudge proof media produces long- lasting prints.

Other features of the UP-D75 printer include a high speed USB 2.0 interface and an integrated gray balance adjustment capability. The printer has a compact, sleek cubic design, enabling multiple units to be stacked upon each other for operational efficiency, and front end operation for ease of use.

The Sony UP-D75 digital color printer is available at authorized resellers nationwide with a suggested list price of $2,995.
