Break the Silence With Sony's 2006 Line of Boomboxes

Designed to share musical moments, Sony's latest boomboxes get the party started anywhere, anytime -- at the gym, in the dorm, on the site or at the office.

Four new models reflect the diverse needs of boombox enthusiasts. For the open-air worker, Sony created a boombox that can take a splash of water or a showering of dust without missing a beat.

For the auto and sound enthusiast, there is a new Xplod® boombox. Workout buffs will love the remote control feature on several new boomboxes, making it easy for an aerobics instructor to fast forward or rewind while leading a class.

"A boombox is the perfect way to enjoy music on the go," said Ruben Tellez, product manager at Sony Electronics. "They give listeners the ability to take their music anywhere -- and share it with anyone. Sony leads the market in variety with something for every music lover."

Tough Enough

With its durable body construction, the new heavy-duty ZS-H10CP boombox is just one of the guys. With a sturdy design and convenient protective handle bar, the water and dirt-resistant player is ideal for hard-hat work areas, a less-than-clean garage or rugged outdoor use. With an AM/FM tuner, line input for digital music players and MP3 playback, this player lets you enjoy the radio or your own music mix in the open air. The unit will be available in April for about $130.

Designed for Driving Beats

The hot look of the CFD-G505 boombox rivals the sound that pumps from its large 100mm power drive woofer. With an aggressive Xplod Power Drive design and high power 20W total RMS, this boombox rocks with both power and precision.

An illuminated indicator on the woofer cover gives a visual signal that the power drive woofer is engaged, and a remote control with 10-key Direct Access™ buttons invites tune changes from a distance. Four preset sound modes, manual power drive woofer control, line input and CD-R/RW playback make this boombox a true music machine.

The CFD-G505 model will be available this month for about $100.

                            Cool and Colorful

The latest addition to the fresh and fashionable PSYC® line of products, the ZS-Y3PSBLK boombox has bold blue accents, an ultra-slim design and a vertical CD loading mechanism. With a booming bass reflex system and Mega Bass® switch, impressing your friends with concert quality will be a cinch. To top it off, the included compact remote lets you control the music from anywhere in the room. The ZS-Y3PSBLK model will be available this month for about $70.

Small Package, Big Sound

Ideal for small spaces, the CFD-S01 model offers a compact design packed with an AM/FM tuner, CD/cassette player and easy layout buttons. The bass reflex speaker enclosure system offers such booming sound; you'll be shocked it came from this slender system. It is available now for about $50.
