Red Ink will release "Metro Station," the much-anticipated debut album from Metro Station, one of the nation's fastest- rising indie rock bands, on Tuesday, September 18.
The Hollywood-based Metro Station will celebrate the release of the electro-rock band's first full-length album with a U.S. theater tour running from October 15 through December 15 with the Minneapolis-based alternative rock band and Vans Warped Tour veterans Motion City Soundtrack. Metro Station is currently on a U.S. club tour with Danger Radio, We The Kings, and Forever The Sickest Kids. The group is also set to play clubs with Valencia in September. (Please see Metro Station tour itineraries following.)
Jesse Cain, brother of Motion City Soundtrack guitarist Josh Cain, directed the video for "Kelsey," one of two tracks on "Metro Station" to be produced by Motion City Soundtrack's Josh Cain and Justin Pierre, who also sings background vocals on the song.
Other tracks on "Metro Station" were produced by producers Sam Hollander and Dave Katz (Gym Class Heroes, Boys Like Girls).
The members of Metro Station -- Trace Cyrus (vocals, guitar), Mason Musso (vocals, guitar), Blake Healy (keyboards, synthesizer), and Anthony Improgo (percussion) -- have created a hook-filled danceable pop sound mirroring the yearning of their generation and the excitement of contemporary pop life. Mastering both traditional songcraft and modern technology on the group's inaugural EP, "The Questions We Ask At Night," Metro Station has enjoyed more than 1.7 million plays of the songs streamed on the band's MySpace page (www.myspace.com/metrostation).
The press has been quick to respond to the fresh young sound and attitude of Metro Station. Alternative Press (July 2007) singled the group out as one of "22 Underground Bands (Who Likely Won't Stay Underground For Long)" while Teen Vogue (April 2007) declared Metro Station a "Best New Unsigned Artist." The group became part of Urb magazine's "Music Revolution" in January 2007 while "Seventeen Forever," Metro Station's breakout youth culture anthem, was featured in The N Network's Summer '07 television promos. In addition to the band's more than 1.7 million MySpace plays, Metro Station has enjoyed multiple spins on Indie 103 and KROQ specialty shows.
A little more than a year ago, the members of the group were working at their local mall, but now, thanks to a burgeoning fan base, incredible songs, and a growing reputation as a riveting live act, Metro Station is ready to bring its music to the rest of America. "We want our shows to be like giant parties," says Mason Musso. "We let everyone get on stage and feed off the energy. It's the biggest rush."
