Boys Like Girls Set to Headline North American Fall 'Tourzilla' Concert Extravaganza

Currently wrapping up a series of highly-successful shows on the Vans Warped Tour, the rapidly-rising young Boston pop/rock band Boys Like Girls -- Martin Johnson (vocals, guitar), Bryan Donahue (bass), John Keefe (drums), and Paul DiGiovanni (guitar) -- will headline the upcoming "Tourzilla" concert extravaganza featuring All Time Low and The Audition with We The Kings performing on the first half of the tour and Valencia during the second half. The Boys Like Girls "Tourzilla" tour begins September 30 at Toad's Place in New Haven and winds up on November 25 at Philadelphia's Electric Factory. (Please see full itinerary following).

News of Boys Like Girls' impending fall headline tour comes in the wake of the group's spell-binding video for "The Great Escape," lensed by director Alan Ferguson (Fall Out Boy), hitting the #1 slot on MTV's "TRL." The group performed live on "TRL" on August 6.

"The Great Escape," the first single from Boys Like Girls' self-titled debut album, was one of America's Top 5 Most Added records at Top 40 during its first week at radio and has been added to more than 100 Top 40 radio station playlists coast-to-coast including rotation on New York's Z-100 and Boston's KISS 108. Boys Like Girls will be part of the Z100 radio show at New York's South Street Seaport on September 19.

Produced by Matt Squire (Panic! At The Disco, Northstar, Hit The Lights), Boys Like Girls spent more than forty weeks on the Billboard Heatseekers Top New Artist chart and the SoundScan Alternative New Artist Sales chart, reaching #1 on both charts for three weeks running in June 2007. Sales for Boys Like Girls have been steadily escalating since the album's release in August 2006. After spending 17 weeks -- it's currently #59 --on the Billboard Top 200 best-selling albums chart, Boys Like Girls is consistently selling upwards of 10,000 copies per week with sales-to-date totaling more than 220K.

Boys Like Girls received high profile coverage recently in USA Today, which accorded the band an "On The Verge" piece (July 26, 2007) while naming the Boys Like Girls single, "The Great Escape," as its "Pick Of The Week" (July 17, 2007). The band is the subject of a major feature in the August issue of Alternative Press, who praised Boys Like Girls' " ... huge pop-rock anthems with instantly memorable choruses."

Boys Like Girls has also been enjoying incredible exposure online with nearly 15 million total plays on the group's My Space page (myspace.com/boyslikegirls) where the band has logged 7.9 million profile views.

Earlier this year, Boys Like Girls won -- with more than 68% of the votes -- Spin.com's coveted "Artist of the Year" honors. Boys Like Girls, one of Alternative Press's "100 Bands You Need To Know in 2007," has also been chosen for AOL "Breakers."
