Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. (SCEA) today announced its continued sponsorship of the Voodoo Music Experience. The event takes place in New Orleans' City Park, October 26-28, 2007. SCEA, which has been part of the annual music festival for eight consecutive years, will offer a range of interactive and popular activities, such as software demos and multiple charity events. SCEA first became involved with the Voodoo Music Experience in 2000 to coincide with the launch of the PlayStation®2 and to lend support to the belief that music and art are a part of everyday living.

"We are thrilled to once again be partnering with Voodoo Music Experience," said Donna Armentor, senior manager, promotions, SCEA. "The music and game industries recognize the value in collaborative efforts as a means to provide consumers with the most compelling entertainment experience. The Voodoo Music Experience is the perfect venue to present PlayStation products as the event targets consumers who are technologically savvy and are especially interested in exploring new forms of entertainment."

At the event, the PlayStation®Experience truck will be onsite offering attendees a chance to preview the latest and soon to be released PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™), PlayStation 2 and PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) titles including NBA '08 ™, Heavenly Sword™, Ratchet & Clank®Future: Tools of Destruction™ , SingStar™, Buzz! Mega Quiz™ and many more. In addition, SingStar™ On Tour will be hitting the streets of New Orleans giving fans the opportunity to get hands on experience with the latest titles from the SingStar franchise. The SingStar performance stage will also be on-site at the Voodoo Music Experience. SingStar, a true interactive singing experience, enables everyone to be a star as they sing along with their favorite artists to the authentic videos of chart-topping tracks.

As part of the company's sponsorship of the Voodoo Music Experience, SCEA will donate $25,000 and several PlayStation 2 systems to the New Orleans Children's Hospital on Thursday, October 25th. SingStar On Tour will be a part of the event, allowing each child in attendance the opportunity to experience SingStar Pop, the second release in the wildly popular SingStar franchise for PlayStation 2, as well as SingStar Rock. There will also be guest appearances by New Orleans's very own Derrick Tabb from the Rebirth Brass Band and Trombone Shorty.

In addition, SCEA will host an afterhour's concert at One Eyed Jacks, New Orleans premier live music venue in the French Quarter. Special musical guest and Voodoo Music Experience performer, Spoon will take the stage for PlayStation VIPs and local attendees. Proceeds from the concert will go to a local New Orleans charity. The line-up for the event's main stages include the Smashing Pumpkins, Rage Against the Machine, Wilco, Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, Sinead O'Connor, Common, Fall Out Boy and Plain White T's. PlayStation and Billboard.com have partnered to sponsor one of the main stages where artists such as Meriwether, Spoon, Tiesto, Common and M.I.A will be performing.
