Five For Fighting's 'World' Featured In Sears 2008 Holiday Campaign

Beginning this week, Five for Fighting's "World" will be featured in Sears' 2008 holiday campaign. "World", taken from Five for Fighting's 2006 release Two Lights, can be found in television spots promoting Sears' theme of granting wishes. The ad focuses on those who fulfill their own positive destinies, from celebrities such as LL Cool J and Vanessa Hudgens to normal, unknown American citizens, such as a disabled veteran, who overcome adversity and achieve ultimate success.

The reactions that gift-givers get when granting wishes is one of the common themes of the Sears campaign, and the focal point of the brand television spot. Launched on ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition on November 4, the spot features actual customer wishes being granted and the incredible reactions that follow. Many of the customers and their families star in the ads. During the week of November 4, the ad also appears on ABC's Dancing with the Stars, NBC's The Biggest Loser, NBC's Phenomenon, NBC's Deal or No Deal and CBS's Kid Nation.

Five for Fighting's John Ondrasik states, "The sentiment of giving a gift that can inspire and change a life, along with the highlighting an American soldier and the Heroes at Home program, allowed me to lend my song 'World' to the Sears holiday campaign. At 13 my parents bought me an 8-track reel to reel tape machine. That gift was my best friend for a decade as I wrote and recorded thousands of songs in developing as a songwriter and producer. Sears outreach to our military also shares the goals of my 'CD for the Troops' project and USO work. Their commitment to our military is an example for corporate America."
