Continuing to deliver on its promise to give consumers access to the most compelling content available for digital reading, Sony today unveiled periodical content for its newly-branded Reader™ Store (readerstore.sony.com). In addition to the exclusive content from The Wall Street Journal and New York Post, announced previously, Reader Store will offer readers access to the world's top newspapers and magazines, with wireless delivery to the new Sony Reader Daily Edition™ or via Sony's Reader Library software on a PC or Macintosh computer. The Sony Reader Daily Edition with wireless 3G connectivity is the newest member of Sony's family of Readers, which also includes Reader Pocket Edition™ and Reader Touch Edition™. The Reader Daily Edition is available for pre-sale at SonyStyle Stores and online at SonyStyle.com.

"Sony is committed to building a digital reading ecosystem that offers consumers access to the most digital content possible. The newest additions to Reader Store are some of the leading newspapers and magazines in the English language," said Steve Haber, president of Sony Electronics' Digital Reading Business Division. "Working with top-tier publishers we now offer compelling original daily and weekly news content, in addition to more than a million digital books."

The Reader Daily Edition is optimized for newspapers and offers periodical content in an elegant, easy-to-read format. The Reader Daily Edition's responsive, menu-driven, seven-inch touch screen lets consumers quickly and intuitively navigate newspapers and magazines, turn pages, highlight text and take notes with the swipe of a finger or by using the included stylus pen. All notes can be exported and printed out for easy reference, and the device includes an onboard Oxford American English Dictionary that allows users to look up a word by simply tapping on it.

The following newspapers are available now: Financial Times, Los Angeles Times and Chicago Tribune. You can purchase a single paper or a monthly subscription and have the paper of your choice delivered wirelessly each day to your Reader Daily Edition.
