NEW YORK, Aug. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Script's (Danny O'Donoghue, Mark Sheehan and Glen Power), third album, #3, will be available for pre-order on iTunes August 21(st). Set for release on October 9, #3 is the follow-up to the acclaimed Irish trio's 2010 album, Science and Faith, which debuted at #1 in the UK and Ireland, and reached the top of the charts all over the world. Fans who pre-order the album will instantly receive a download of the first single, "Hall of Fame."
The Script premiered "Hall of Fame" in London during the Today Show's Olympics broadcast. It was the perfect debut for the empowering anthem, which features will.i.am - it soars both lyrically and musically. "We wanted to capture as much emotion in the track's sound as there is in the lyrics, which are definitely some of the most positive and upbeat we've ever written," says The Script's Mark Sheehan. The video for "Hall of Fame," is as inspiring as the song: it tells the story of a dancer and a fighter who triumph over adversity and challenge, check it out: http://www.thescriptmusic.com/us/video.
The album's title, #3 is more significant than it may seem. Yes, it's the Script's third album, but there are also three members in The Script, each of them contributing equally, and it was recorded in Studio 3 at London's Sphere Studios. But mainly it expresses the theme of the album: "music for the head, heart and feet."
With more than a million Twitter followers and three million Facebook fans, The Script have taken their connection with their audience to innovative new heights. They are the first band to fully integrate with VYou's redesigned video Q&A platform where fans can ask or answer questions through an embedded video interface on The Script's Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/thescript/app_477969682214054).
In 2008, The Script released their eponymous debut, which featured the platinum-selling single "Breakeven." Since then, they've sold more than four million albums, an astounding nine million singles, and toured the world as both headliners and as the hand-picked opener for U2 and Paul McCartney.
The Script will mark the release of #3 with an 18-date headlining tour in the United States, kicking off at Radio City Music Hall in New York on October 9.
