PARK RIDGE, N.J., Nov. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The "Rock the Harvest" benefit concert for Pascack Valley Meals on Wheels (PVMoW), originally scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 8 at the Park Ridge Marriott, has been postponed to Thursday, Nov. 29( )due to the after-effects of Hurricane Sandy.

"With clean-up and restoration efforts still underway across much of New Jersey and New York, it's prudent that we postpone the show during a difficult time for both the performers and attendees," said Glenn Govier of Sony Electronics' Rockers Against Hunger (RAH!) employee/musicians organization.

PVMoW Director Jeanne Martin noted that proceeds from the Rock the Harvest event will now be earmarked to provide shelf-stable emergency meals for the winter, providing needed assistance for those area residents affected by Hurricane Sandy.

The line-up for the rescheduled "Rock the Harvest" event is planned to remain as originally announced, with up to 10 bands taking the stage at the Park Ridge Marriott's Brookside Parc Room.

Doors open at 5:30 pm, with the music beginning at 6:00 pm. Scheduled to perform are: VSB, Sidebar, Mojo Workin', Marian & the Marianettes, the Rafael Orsini Band, Craig DeBari & the Usual Suspects, Joe Balsam & Bandejour, Bridget Collins Band, Mercy Street plus very special guests Carlos Colina & Straight Up, fronted by Emerson, N.J. mayor Carlos Colina.

Since 2008, the RAH! musicians have given their time and talents, organizing benefit shows for local food banks like the Center for Food Action and international charities such as Save the Children Foundation's Haiti Earthquake Emergency Fund. "Rock the Harvest" is the 2(nd) concert event Sony's RAH! group has presented in benefit of Pascack Valley Meals on Wheels.
