The Los Angeles quintet, in which the UK's The Sunday Times describes their sound as, "dark-hearted, descending-chord epics" released their debut 5-track EP, I'm Sorry, in August of last year, featuring the hot singles, "Female Robbery" and "Sweater Weather." "Sweater Weather" is currently top 20 at Alternative Radio and the video is approaching over 2 million views, WATCH HERE.
The Neighbourhood are currently on tour in the US. The band toured the US with Paul Banks of Interpol and The Temper Trap last year and have just announced they will be joining UK group FOALS on their upcoming US tour (see below for full dates).
The recent BBC Radio 1 mashup of Destiny's Child "Say My Name/Justin Timberlake "Cry Me River" immediately shot to the top of the Hype Machine chart. The Music Ninja raved about the performance saying: "BBC Radio 1 has a rich history of coaxing unexpected cover songs from the artists that stop by. Californian buzz band, The Neighbourhood, continued the tradition.""It's a silky smooth and down tempo take on the 2000s radio pop hits and we sure can't help but love the darker, "playin' it cool" vibes. These cats know what's up." LISTEN HERE!
The Neighbourhood are: Jesse Rutherford (vocals), Jeremy Freedman (guitar), Zach Abels (guitar), Mikey Margott (bass) & Bryan Sammis (drums).
