Sony Movie Channel Is Rounding Up Westerns In July As Gun Fights, Cowboys, Fugitives And Lawmen Ride Into Town

CULVER CITY, Calif., June 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Sony Movie Channel (SMC) is filling the screen with outlaws, horse thieves and cowboys as the channel brands July with some of the best Western films ever made. As America celebrates the month known for Independence, SMC is riding into the Wild West with such movies as LEGENDS OF THE FALL, FACE OF A FUGITIVE, DECISION AT SUNDOWN, BATTLE OF ROGUE RIVER, JUBAL, BROKEN TRAIL, THE SHADOW RIDERS and THEY CAME TO CORDURA.

Old West movies are a staple of Sony Movie Channel's programming every month. However, in July, the Channel's programming schedule is focusing on this popular genre starting right out of the gate on Monday, July 1. For the first week of July, two Western films will air back-to-back every night at 10 PM and, after that, every Wednesday night's programming, from July 10-31, will be set in the American Old West. For those Wild West genre fans, on Sunday, July 28, the Channel will present an all-day Western marathon starting at 4:40 AM ET.

In addition to the marathon, and daily and weekly Western films, Sony Movie Channel is providing one lucky winner the chance to experience what it is like living the cowboy way with its "Sony Movie Channel Back in the Saddle Sweepstakes."
