NEW YORK, Sept. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Fresh off a 'tweet' heard around the world from the enigmatic PRINCE @3rdeyegirl who gave a simple directive to "DON'T WORRY…JUST CLICK" and watch the impactful video for HIATUS KAIYOTE's adored record "Nakamarra" - the internationally acclaimed future soul band announces Fall U.S. Tour Dates in support of their debut album Tawk Tomahawk via Sony Masterworks' imprint Flying Buddha.
HIATUS KAIYOTE brings their "slinky grooves," as detailed by Time Out NY to The Arsenio Hall Show on October 28 and KCRW's "Morning Becomes Eclectic" on October 30, before kicking off their Fall tour that day at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, CA, followed by stops in San Francisco, Brooklyn, Boston, Washington DC and Philadelphia. Melbourne's HIATUS KAIYOTE, recently deemed "worthy of four-star acclaim" by the Wall Street Journal also shares the cover of the September issue of Wax Poetics alongside Swedish electronic band Little Dragon.
In a little under two years, the buzz band has gained legions of fans from all over the world including highly-respected artists like ?uestlove, Flying Lotus and Erykah Badu, plus tastemakers and audiophiles like London-based DJ Gilles Peterson, Stereogum and KCRW. The band attracts such a diverse following because the music doesn't fit within the boundaries of a single genre. Each track is like a key ingredient in the listening experience that adds to a fusion of jazz, hip-hop, electronic, opera, rock and soul.
"Music has always been medication to us," lead singer Nai Palm explains. "It's a force for self-healing that we're ready to share with the world." Through a musical symbiosis, the band has created its own lane and Tawk Tomahawk showcases the breadth of their talent and love for music lyric by lyric, beat by beat.
