Karmin To Launch "PULSES" Headline Tour In January 2014
Full Length Debut Album "PULSES" To Be Released In 2014
10/28/2013
NEW YORK, Oct. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Karmin will kick off 2014 with their "Pulses" headline tour, starting January 28 in Baltimore, MD. This run sees the platinum-certified duo of Nick Noonan and Amy Heidemann hitting major markets across North America through the end of February. It's your chance to see the sexy, slick, and sly hip-hop/pop collective igniting stages, up close and personal.
They've become a veritable live phenomenon over the course of countless shows. About the Karmin concert experience, Post City wrote, "Karmin won the crowd," and Cleveland Leader praised how, "Karmin has successfully taken their career to the next level…and they did not disappoint fans with their live show." Meanwhile, Houston Press said, "It doesn't hurt that Heideman has a set of pipes that can rival Warped Tour-era Katy Perry, with the energy of Paramore's Hayley Williams and looks that could kill. And of course, she can rap her ass off."
Moreover, the aptly named tour ushers in the group's anxiously awaited full-length debut, Pulses—due out in stores early next year. Building off the success of smash singles like the double-platinum "Brokenhearted" and "Hello" both of which hit #1 on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Songs chart, the album encompasses everything listeners crave from Karmin. From Amy's wild wordplay, rapid fire raps, and shimmering hooks to Nick's airtight instrumentation and soundscapes, their Pulses beat loud and clear.
Karmin's most recent single "Acapella" continues stirring up excitement. YouTube/VEVO views exceed 10.1 million, and it's been awarded widespread critical acclaim. Billboard called it, "a catchy ode to independence that the pair's fans should gobble up," while Rolling Stone said, "Karmin turn their signature mix of electro-pop and rap into an aggressive, thumping kiss-off." Perez Hilton put it best, "On fiyah! The girl can rap, uh huh," and Ryan Seacrest agreed, "a fresh, new song that's different, but still remains true to their signature vocals and rap production." Meanwhile, Seventeen "can't get enough!"
Amy and Nick are Karmin, the genre-bending pop duo with remarkably memorable high-energy live performances. Their sound is a wholly original, infectious blend of hip-hop, pop and rock which is complimented by their signature monochromatic visual style. Karmin is the first fan-discovered group to translate from "viral sensation" to "stadium status" with over half a billion views and double platinum sales; since their launch into the mainstream, they've blitzed the world with their perpetual touring schedule and debut TV performance on SNL. That was followed by Good Morning America, Live with Kelly and Michael, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, America's Got Talent, Dancing With The Stars, Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve, Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, The Rachel Zoe Project, and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Upon releasing their debut EP, Hello, on Epic in 2012, they received a BMI Pop Award for "Brokenhearted," an American Music Award for "New Media Honoree," a Boston Music Award, and an MTV O Award. Also, Heidemann graced the cover of Rolling Stone—the second female artist to be honored last year—when Karmin's fans voted them winners of the magazine's "Women Who Rock" competition.
