NEW YORK, Jan. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- A Great Big World's full-length debut, Is There Anybody Out There? [Black Magnetic/Epic Records], is the #3 album in the country landing in the top of Billboard's Top 200 and peaking at #1 on iTunes Album Chart. The group has captured the highest charting new artist debut album this week and press can't stop raving about Is There Anybody Out There?:
Entertainment Weekly: "A Great Big Breakout"
Huffington Post: "The Next Pop Sensation"
USA Today: "...the smartly crafted often piano-based tunes on the debut reflect influences from Ben Folds to Broadway musicals (3-out-of-4 stars)"
People Magazine : "...there's a fresh energy and Glee-fulness and it carries on in the power-pop spirit of Fun. (3-out-of-4 stars)"

Produced by Dan Romer (Ingrid Michaelson, Jenny Owen Youngs, and composer of the "Beasts of the Southern Wild" score) the album stands out as a testament to the pop power and songwriting prowess of New York duo Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino.
This past week saw the boys give an electrifying performance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, adding to a myriad of other recent TV appearances including ABC's Good Morning America, LIVE with Kelly and Michael and a live stream of their sold out New York Highline Ballroom show with VH1.com. VH1 selected them as 2014's first "You Oughta Know" artist for the month of January, an accolade that places them alongside alumni including Bruno Mars, Lorde, Ed Sheeran, The Lumineers, and more.
Moreover, the boys spent Grammy Weekend 2014 giving another very special performance. At the personal request of the legendary Clive Davis, A Great Big World took the stage at the record industry mogul's exclusive Grammy party, joining the industry's elite performers including Jennifer Hudson, Miley Cyrus, Foo Fighters, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Imagine Dragons. The performance earned a standing ovation from the A-list crowd, and was a fitting climax to a week of milestones.
Online, "Say Something" has evolved into a viral juggernaut. Touched by the lyrics and music, countless notable and independent artists have created their own covers of the song. Among these covers are takes by everybody from Victoria Justice to Kina Grannis, Walk Off the Earth, Kat Dahlia and India Yelich-O'Connor—Lorde's younger sister. Simultaneously, in addition to Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Christina Perri, Ingrid Michaelson, Sara Bareilles, Fifth Harmony, Karmin, and more have tweeted their adoration and enthusiasm for the release of Is There Anybody Out There?
It's been a magical journey thus far for the group. Their breakthrough double-platinum mega-hit with Christina Aguilera, "Say Something," ignited a fast rise to success back in November. The pair and Aguilera gave a stirring performance on NBC's The Voice followed by enchanting and electrifying turns at the American Music Awards and The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. As their profile grew, the single entranced the entire world, eventually selling over two million digital songs at a rapid rate in the U.S. alone. It went on to occupy the #1 spot on iTunes, Billboard's Digital Songs Chart, Billboard's Digital Track Chart, Spotify, and Shazam in addition to going Top 10 on sales charts in 19 countries.
Be sure to catch a show on their current headline tour as well! New dates announced for March below.
