CULVER CITY, Calif., Feb. 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- getTV honors Warner Baxter in March—the first American to win an Academy Award for Best Actor and star of the rare 1940s CRIME DOCTOR series. Each Thursday in March, tune in for classic episodes featuring Baxter as Dr. Robert J. Ordway, an amnesiac whose life as a noted crime psychologist crumbles when an attack causes memories of his criminal past to resurface. The month will include nine of the doctor's most daring cases including CRIME DOCTOR, THE CRIME DOCTOR'S STRANGEST CASE, THE CRIME DOCTOR'S COURAGE, and THE CRIME DOCTOR'S WARNING. As an added bonus, getTV will also be showing the romantic drama ADAM HAD FOUR SONS, starring Baxter, Fay Wray, and Ingrid Bergman as a loyal governess who risks everything to expose a thieving gold-digger (Wray) while revealing her own affection for the master of the house (Baxter).
Additionally, getTV's "High Noon" block is celebrating Old West serial star Buck Jones every Saturday in March at 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT, with nine of the cowboy hero's most epic adventures. The career-spanning retrospective follows the gunslinger through roles ranging from slapstick to dramatic in films such as RANGE FEUD, with John Wayne, as well as BORDER LAW, FORBIDDEN TRAIL, THE STRANGER FROM ARIZONA, and more.
