getTV Expands Its Distribution Reach With The Signing Of Cox Media Group TV Stations In Charlotte, Jacksonville, Seattle And Tulsa

CULVER CITY, Calif., April 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- getTV, Sony Pictures Television (SPT) Networks' new U.S. digital broadcast television network, is adding four major market TV stations from the Cox Media Group (CMG) to its growing affiliate roster. Starting today, April 1, getTV is adding WAXN-TV in Charlotte, NC; KIRO-TV in Seattle, WA; and KMYT-TV in Tulsa, OK. In the summer, getTV begins broadcasting on WTEV-TV in Jacksonville, FL.

getTV is a free-to-air broadcast television digital network dedicated to showcasing Hollywood's legendary movies through 1960.

With this agreement and others, getTV has struck deals covering 31 television markets, 18 of which are in the top 20 designated market areas (DMAs), representing more than 48 percent of the U.S. television households. The over the air channel positions for the stations launching today are WAXN-TV-Charlotte (64.2), KIRO-TV-Seattle (7.2) and KMYT-TV-Tulsa (41.2).

The network, launched in early February, broadcasts classic Hollywood films produced from the 1930s through the 1960s and is available across the country on cable and over free-to-air. getTV's schedule features some of the best of Hollywood's golden era spanning Academy Award®-winning films, Westerns and comedies.

Cox Media Group viewers in Seattle, Charlotte, Jacksonville, and Tulsa will enjoy the range of classic films on getTV. In addition to a month-long theme, the network offers weekly programming blocks that represent different genres. Saturdays viewers can 'get out of town' when getTV presents a full day and night of classic Westerns. On Sunday evenings the network highlights silver screen favorites and Tuesday's primetime schedule 'gets groovy,' as getTV romps through the campy, comedic movies of the late 1950s and 1960s with its 'Groovy Tuesdays' block. Thursday and Friday nights, getTV features the work of iconic Hollywood stars. And, each weekday at 1 p.m. (ET)/10 a.m. (PT), the network showcases legendary film actresses with its 'Afternoon Delight' block.
