The Dr. Oz Show to Offer Exclusive in Depth Interviews with Charlie Sheen on His Journey through HIV Treatment and Search for a Breakthrough Beginning with Two Shows Airing 1/11 and 1/12

NEW YORK, Jan. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The three time Daytime Emmy Award winning Dr. Oz Show will bring America into the heart, mind and home of actor Charlie Sheen as he grapples with his latest dramatic revelation – disclosing he is HIV positive.  Dr. Oz will portray Sheen's challenges as an HIV positive person struggling with substance abuse, compulsive behavior, tobacco use and managing an acting career.  In a sweeping documentary style multi-show series, Dr. Oz will also capture Sheen's proactive efforts to find, understand and deploy the newest and most promising and sometimes controversial HIV treatment protocols and drugs available today.

In addition to dissecting the emotional epicenter of Sheen's experience, we follow Sheen as he visits some of the leading researchers in the field of HIV treatment.  While controversial, some researchers Sheen visits explain the principles of how we may finally reach a cure as well as why a cure remains elusive.
